It shouldn’t create an information problem.

Your Remote Purchase Still Needs Due Diligence

A Power of Attorney is only one tool in a larger remote transaction.

If you haven’t personally seen the property, continue using live walkthroughs, disclosures, inspections, and your local team to understand what you’re buying.

Tell us early.

A POA can be extremely useful when military duties prevent you from being somewhere physically.

The problems usually happen when everybody discovers the situation at the last minute.

Tell your real estate professional.

Make sure the closing team knows.

I also don’t want buyers thinking a POA means they can completely disconnect from the transaction.

Someone may be signing on your behalf, but it’s still your house and your mortgage.

Use a Power of Attorney to solve the logistics.

Don’t use it to outsource the decision.
