But you should know what your next step looks like.

There’s a big difference. A few months ago, browsing listings was just for fun. Buying a home isn’t something you do alone. You’ll likely work with a lender, a real estate agent, a home inspector, and a title company. One mistake I see is waiting until the last minute to find those people. I’d much rather you spend a little time now finding professionals you trust than trying to make rushed decisions once you find a house you love. The right team makes the entire process feel a lot less overwhelming.

Understanding the overall VA loan process before you begin making offers also helps every member of your homebuying team stay on the same page.

Be Flexible With Your Expectations

One thing Hawaii teaches almost every buyer is flexibility. Maybe the first neighborhood you liked doesn’t end up fitting your budget. Maybe the condo you loved doesn’t qualify for VA financing.
